Craggy Gardens Rays

Craggy Gardens is famous for its soaring views of the Black Mountain and Asheville area on 5000 ft. peaks and its spectacular Catawba Rhododendron bloom in mid June every year.  On this particular evening, after hiking near Craggy Pinnacle, the clouds developed some gaps and light rays started pouring through the skies.  I found this beautiful rhododendron bush in full bloom for a foreground and this image is the result.  I love the colors of summer as shown in this image, with beautiful blues in the mountains, golden crepuscular rays, and royal purple rhododendron blooms.
