"After many trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, I continued searching for the perfect spot that showcased both the rugged dunescapes of the Banks along with the gentle calm of a peaceful serene sunrise. After walking miles of dunes, I found this area with graceful lines, perfect seagrass, and a curving view that framed the ocean. Finally, one morning the clouds lined up just right to get the perfect shot. I tripped the shutter right as the sun poked through the clouds, and using a very small aperture, I was able to create a brilliant sunstar in the center to the image." Cape Hatteras National Seashore, near Nags Head, NC
