Horizon: Coastal Pink Sunset
"Along Hwy 12 on the Outer Banks between Nags Head and Avon,
Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge sits along the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. This area is about as far east as you can go in the Southeast, jutting into the Ocean near the Gulf Stream. This area is famous for its Blue Water Marlin fishing, rare sea bird watching, and highway closures after Hurricanes due to erosion. In mid-August, the Sea Oats grow to over 5 ft tall with thundering sea heads. On this evening, I was able to capture the last light of Sunset behind me as it lit up the grass in front of me with beautiful golden light. "
