A Tide Clock That's Actually Right

The clock face is our usual 6 AM to midnight timeline. It shows your whole day at a glance. A pointer moves along it to show the current time.  High and low tide bars appear on an LED strip: they rise and fall in brightness, the peak being at the exact high or low tide. The linear timeline lends itself beautifully to the gradual rise and fall of the tides.  During the 6 nighttime hours, a dimmer version of the display keeps the time visible without disturbing sleep.   (Full user guide here.)

The wood. Meridian is handcrafted from solid maple. An ocean wave is carved across the face — encroaching on the hour markers the way surf washes over your feet. The lettering is inlaid with turquoise resin, finished flush with the surface. It's a tide clock that looks like it belongs at the coast even when the tide is out. And the utterly unique linear clock design make it a show-stopping statement piece.

Setup: Plugs into any standard wall outlet. Run the included cord along the wall (cord-hiding covers included free) and you're done. No batteries. No recharging. No daylight saving reset, it handles that automatically. Connect to your home WiFi, pick your NOAA tide station, and you're done. After that, nothing to think about ever again.
